SEED FUNDING HUMA INAY SPACE
This is a call for seed funding to develop Huma Inay as an alternative Dayak space in Palangka Raya, Central Kalimantan, Indonesia.

A Dayak Home for Art, Knowledge, and Collective Growth
Huma means home (Dayak Ngaju).
Inay means mother (Dayak To’mun).
Huma Inay is both: a Dayak home that nurtures, a mother that holds, and a space that invites ideas, culture, and people to meet in a genuine, human, and artistic way.

A HUB
&
COLLECTIVE SPACE
The vision for Huma Inay is to build a collective space that nurtures creativity and environmental sustainability, deeply interwoven with wellbeing, culture, and genuine human connection.
I envision a place powered by solar and renewable energy, operating off-grid as a living example of resilience.
It will function as a hub, a community center, and a women’s space with intentional, integrated design.
The site will embody sustainable living through thoughtful waste management systems and an ethnobotanical garden surrounded by native trees that honors local knowledge and biodiversity.

Support My Vision
Huma Inay will serve as a networking hub that enables grassroots initiatives to flourish, especially the new Women Empowering Women Collective (WEWC) that I am currently leading and nurturing to grow. It will be a space where women can connect, learn, create, and support each other across disciplines and communities.
This vision is unique, one of a kind, and rooted in Dayak belief that art, nature, culture, and community can grow together in harmony.
How You Can Contribute

There are many ways to support the growth of Huma Inay Space and the Women Empowering Women Collective. Your contribution—big or small, financial or skill-based—helps us build a vibrant, grounded, community-led space.
Financial Support
You can contribute through Wise international transfer or Indonesian bank transfer. These seed funds go directly into transforming the house into a functional collective space and sustaining our community programs.

Fellowship & Exchange
Support us by offering fellowships, residencies, or short-term exchanges for Huma Inay Space management and Women Empowering Women Collective. These opportunities expand our knowledge, creativity, and global perspectives.
In-Kind Contributions
Anything that helps make our space cool, alive, and vibrant—in alignment with the dream of Huma Inay—is welcome. This can include books, art materials, tools, equipment, musical instruments, furniture, or anything that helps us build a creative, sustainable, community-rooted hub.

Your Support Matters
Huma Inay is seeking to grow as a truly independent space, not dependent on just one or two major funders. That’s why we rely on small contributions from individual supporters like you to contribute (as little or much as you can!).
Your support keeps this space honest, community-rooted, and genuinely ‘free’, flowing through me like my Dayak blood and the lifeways of my ancestors.

LOOKING AHEAD
If we reach or exceed $150,000, we will host a landmark Art–Science–Culture Gathering to launch Huma Inay and you will be invited!
The launch will be a full sensory experience of culture, creativity, and community.
